Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority's Chipper Days program, a free service offered to Novato residents to dispose of their yard waste.
Program Details
Residents can chip up their vegetation curbside.
The program will be offered six weeks this year:
Week of April 8th
Week of May 13th
Week of June 17th
Week of August 5th
Week of September 9th
Week of October 14th
Important: Residents must sign up by the Friday before the week of chipping to participate. For example, residents must sign up by Friday, April 5th to participate in chipping the week of April 8th.
Benefits
Chipper Days helps residents create defensible space around their homes, reducing wildfire risk.
It also eliminates yard waste buildup, preventing potential fire hazards.

Please spread the word about the Chipper Days program to your neighbors and Firewise group members.
Encourage residents to sign up early for the chipping events they'd like to participate in.

Important Program Guidelines
Piles must be placed on the curb (typically where garbage cans go) by 8am on Monday morning of the chipping week and will be picked up by 5pm that Friday.
Material more than 8 inches in diameter cannot be chipped.
The pile size cannot exceed 20 feet x 4 feet x 4 feet. Piles with unpermitted items or exceeding the size limit may be left behind and will become the resident's responsibility to remove.
The pile must be within 5 feet of a place where the truck can access it.
Do not place piles where they are blocking a roadway or driveway or within 10 feet of a utility pole or fire hydrant.
Unpermitted Items
Trash, poison oak, blackberry brambles, oleander.
Construction materials, lumber, wood containing nails or other metal.
