Purchasing is a division of the Finance Department and provides oversight of the District’s decentralized purchasing activities for the purpose of optimizing efficiency in District business operations, and to ensure transparent and ethical public procurement practices that support the District and the community to which we serve.  Purchasing provides quote and bid preparation guidance to District buyers. Purchasing also works with Accounts Payable to ensure that invoices are correct and paid on time. Bids for goods and services over the purchasing bid threshold of $50,000 are advertised in the Marin IJ and the Press Democrat newspapers.
