PLEASE REVIEW CAREFULLY
Why have I received a bill?
You have received this bill because the Novato Fire District responded to a 9-1-1 call from you or someone representing you and a medical assessment and or transport was performed.
What if I received a bill and lifetime authorization form?
If you have received a bill and authorization form, please complete the form, and return it to our billing office. If the form already shows your insurance, please verify the information is correct, sign the signature portion and return it to our office.
Do I need to pay the balance before you bill my insurance? No
- For Novato Residents who pay the paramedic tax any charges not covered by your insurance will be covered by the paramedic tax. If you do not have insurance, please call our billing office 415-878-2642. If you do have insurance, please return the authorization form only and no payment.
- For non-Novato Residents, if you do not have insurance, you will be responsible for the billed amount, please call our office to make a payment or set up a payment plan 415- 878-2642. If you do have insurance, please return the completed authorization form only at this time. After a payment is received from your insurance, you will receive a bill for uncovered charges, co-pays or deductibles.
Are other fire districts charging the same or similar fees?
Yes. The implementation and collection for medical assessments and or transportation has become an industry standard to fund the enhanced paramedic level of service provided by fire district resources and their staffing.
