Request an Inspection
The Novato Fire Department is excited to introduce a new way to schedule fire inspections. All fire inspections will be requested through our online scheduling system. The self-serve scheduling website allows you to select the next available day and time for your inspection that works best for your project.
Select the type of inspection that you'd like to request from the appropriate drop-down options, and you will be routed to our online scheduler. By selecting an available appointment and completing a short form, you will be able to confirm your appointment in minutes and can reschedule and/or cancel appointments on your own.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our offices at (415) 878-2623 or email prevention@novatofire.org.
Fire System Inspections
A fire system inspection, within a commercial property, is a dedicated inspection reviewing the testing and maintenance of a fire alarm and/or sprinkler system. These fire systems are considered fire suppression and notification devices. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure these systems are always maintained. These inspections can lead to enforcement actions or the implementation of a fire watch when systems are found out of service or in disrepair.
Commercial Fire Sprinklers & Alarms
To prepare for a successful annual inspection, all testing records of the fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems are required to be provided to the District for review prior to final inspection. This can be done by providing Novato Fire with testing records via email, prevention@novatofire.org.
Occupancy Compliance Inspection
Commercial buildings all have a specific "occupancy" based on the intended use. The occupancy compliance inspections are conducted to ensure the building is being used for the type of occupancy it is rated. These inspections can lead to enforcement actions.
Annual Commercial Fire Sprinklers & Alarms
