Plan reviews are required for planning projects, construction permits as determined by the Building Department, and fire protection systems.
A Plan Check Application is required for each submittal.
Plans, Fire Jurisdiction Transmittal Form (County Projects Only), supplemental documentation and application can be submitted in PDF or weblink via email to prevention@novatofire.org.
The plan review process and issuance of a fire construction permit may take approximately 10 business days. Applicants shall be notified by email when your plan review has been completed. Plan reviews will not be released until payment has been received.
Plans are approved for a term of one (1) year. A Permit is considered “Expired” when there has been no project activity for 12 or more months. Permits can be extended if the fire prevention bureau is contacted within 30 days prior to the permit expiration date (additional fees may apply). Expired permits cannot be reactivated; a new submittal is required and a different Permit Number will be assigned.
