Operations Division, the core component, encompasses a dedicated team of emergency response personnel and state-of-the-art equipment. The daily deployment of emergency response staff across the entire fire district totals 20 individuals. This skilled workforce includes a Battalion Chief, four 3-Person Engine Companies, a 3-Person Truck Company (cross-staffing an engine), and two 2-Person Paramedic Ambulances.

 The District takes pride in offering a comprehensive range of emergency response services, encompassing structural and wildland fire suppression, response to hazardous materials incidents, Urban Search and Rescue, water rescue, vehicle extrication, technical rescue, and both basic life support and advanced life support medical services.

In 2023, Novato Fire District responded to 7,489 calls for service. Novato Fire District is an all risk fire district that responds to all types of calls for service.

Engine companies are strategically staffed with at least one Firefighter/Paramedic, ensuring immediate administration of advanced life support (ALS) pre-hospital emergency medical care upon arrival. The two ambulances, each staffed with two paramedics, respond alongside an engine company to all medical emergencies. The District is committed to delivering Advanced Life Support care within 5 minutes of notification, achieving an impressive 80% success rate.
